Parallax- Private View

I had the pleasure of working with Monica Shanta Brown in the Mixed Other exhibition, and was so pleased to be part of this follow on exhibition, which also included Mixed Other artists Jamie Bradbury and Phillip Hall-Patch.  The relevancy of mixed-ethnicities within our society is very poignant (especially at the moment), and the show has seemed to resonate with audiences well.  I’ve had some wonderful discussions with visitors regarding my work, as well as ideas of cultural identity.

The exhibition is on until the 9th of June- “Parallax is an exhibition showcasing work by a selection of 11 artists of mixed-heritage and mixed-ethnicities. They share with us their multiple perspectives on individual cultural identity, exploring how cultural location and context shapes our perceptions of the world. This diverse collection of artwork encompassing painting, photography, film and installation, is a creative contribution to the collective dialogue on the truths and illusions of cultural definitions, boundaries and inter-communications. These artists reveal, from multiple viewpoints, complex layers of our diverse and globalised society, with each artist taking the viewer on a journey of shifting perspectives.”

Here are some photos from the private view- which was a huge success!
